So smooth I'm getting beaten up

I'd thought about putting a disclaimer on this post because I suspected some folks, and now it looks like most folks, Eric in particular, might not hear in my writing what I'm thinking in my head, and saying and looking like in person when I'm talking about my take on the Buckeye Institute's Eye on the Statehouse.
But for folks who prefer my concrete wearing everything on her sleeve kind of demeanor:
Of COURSE it's the GOP and conservative's eye on Dems or liberals. That RAB took what I wrote at face value, as did absolutely everyone else, says more about...well, I won't get snarky. Let's just say, some folks don't know Jack, I mean, Jill, I mean, Jack about Jill.
Okay - so - Buckeye Institute - operations for conservatives. NO mystery. NONE. Never was. I was one of the first to blog about Blackwell going there. (Anyone remember who was the first and possibly only (I don't recall specifically) person to get questions answered by Blackwell on his Opener's blog during the campaign? That would be me. Coy, specific, polite but absolutely with an operative purpose: Lawyers have a tendency to like to let people hang by their own words. It's far more an objective way to demonstrate what is problematic, than just name calling or any other hepped up attack. Why do you think I go back to Meet the Bloggers transcripts all the time?)
And that's where the ridiculousness - the obvious ridiculousness of the BI proposition comes in. The problem for their effort is that the conservatives and GOP - their primary audience and support - are in charge of both houses of our legislature. Then they have the auditor of the state, who was just on the radio this morning (a must-listen), said in an interview specifically that it is her job to hunt down and find misspending. And she said that she has uncovered rampant misspending.
Hmm, misspending - it sure didn't happen all in the last six weeks since the Dems have been in their statewide offices. It will have to be traced back through 16 years of GOP government. So, Eye on the Statehouse, you watching and listening and checking out what our State Auditor is turning up? Though I also hope someone has their eye on our Auditor, to be sure that she keeps the reviews as nonpartisan as she said, in the radio interview, she expects them to be.
In fact - another great idea: Mr. LoParo could start with the reports by the Auditor, with a GOP friend, the only GOP friend in the statewide offices. I'm sure she could provide Mr. LoParo with reams of posts about waste. Why, it's her job to find that waste, and report it, and get rid of it.
Hmm, get. rid. of. it.
Ah. Yes - that Statehouse. That we're keeping an eye on. That's making waste. That's headed by longtime GOP folks. Who still hold the majority. And head all the committees.
As I wrote in the post that started all this head-scratching about WTF is Jill saying, doing, thinking: let's send them everything we got. Every day. And be sure to post it and keep track of it and cc it to at least one other person besides Mr. LoParo, so that, you know, all our emails don't go missing.
Btw, hope everyone's having a nice time at CPAC with Phyllis Schlafly who is on a panel with Ken. Blackwell that is.

I like and admire Phyllis--I just can't see how she, and others, will be able to tolerate Ken very long; somebody has contrived his publicity to be far better than what he ever has been. For my money, there's just not a whole lot going on there.
Thanks for commenting, Tim. I only know her from her stances, not personally. She's not really stood for anything I support so it's a bit hard for me to assess her. Next time I see you, I'd love to hear more.
Smooth? It's not likely LoParo or RAB would have believed you earnestly.
ROFL - I KNOW I KNOW!!! I'm certain Naugle was being equally backhanded in what he wrote 'cept I was already there.
You see why, now, that I hate April Fool's Day?
ok, misunderstanding. moving on now.
Of COURSE [the Buckeye Institute Eye on the Statehouse is] the GOP and conservative's eye on Dems or liberals.
I might agree that the Buckeye Institute is just out to get the Dems except for an inconvenient fact ... The Buckeye Institute has identified in the past what it considered wasteful spending by the Taft administration (with the cooperation of the Republican legislature, of course). See, for example, the Institute's "Ohio Piglet Books" for 2006 and 2005.
And if you actually look at the four stories currently on the front page of Eye on the Statehouse, you won't find Ted Strickland's name mentioned once. You will find criticism of legislators though.
Maybe Eye on the Statehouse will turn out to be a partisan hit job, but I'll reserve judgment until there's some actual evidence.
That's everyone's prerogative and it's a prudent line to draw publicly.
As I suggested in my first now seen as controversial post, I encourage EVERYONE to send EVERYTHING they would otherwise be posting about as waste to Mr. LoParo at the Eye on the Statehouse blog, and cc it to some third party so it can't disappear, and let's keep track of what info we're providing so we can keep track of what info they're promoting as waste.
