Reason #21 to VOTE NO on ISSUE 3

CLICK THIS TEXT TO VISIT THIS BLOG'S CURRENT SITE

Because if Mohammad Yunus can turn microloans as small as $14, which he's been making through his Grameen Bank, into literally millions of dollars worth of success stories, then why the $&#%&* can't Forest City, Jeff Jacobs, the racetrack owners and everyone else claiming that gambling is the answer Ohio needs to get out of its economic distress also fund the same idea here in Ohio, with, you know, the multiple millions of dollars they've already spent lying to Ohio citizens about the crappy piece of legal writing called Issue 3? (I'll hold off on emphasizing the high proportion of Grameen's loans that go to women, and make back their money and then some.)

Not to mention, the Bank has a foundation too.

The man won a G-damn Nobel Peace Prize for goodness sakes for this idea. We could use a whole lot more recommendations for peace that are based on economics, than recommendations for taking gambles that will line already plush pockets.

Shalom Jill,

Want to really toss your cookies? John Tierney actually had chutzpah to argue on the pages of the New York Times that Wal Mart should have gotten that Nobel because it's put a lot more people to work than some silly microloan program.

B'shalom,

Jeff

Ugh - these people who don't know it when they see it and must quantify everything. Drives. me. Nuts.
